In the LETTER FROM OUTER SPACE we meet Raokin, the perl-diver from the book Omega 5. His government, so he says, has ordered him to disturb the Americans a little, because of the war. He does show off with his civilization to some extend, one has to admit that, but some of the things he says sound quite interesting.
DO YOU REMEMBER? is the title of the next one. I personally don't like it, because it is too didactic. Besides it is not even good literature, so I don't know why I wrote it at all and then translated it. Maybe I'll find out one day.
CURFEW FOR FEELINGS I wrote in Berlin in German. The Arabic translation was printed in the Cairo literature magazine Akhbar al-Adab.
As the rhymed stories of the "Crocodeel from Kiel" are not translatable it goes on with bamboo # 235. It is a lyrical piece and relates to CURFEW FOR FEELINGS. It is called SETTLEMENTS AROUND YOUR HEART
One of the fields and genres in the bamboo is the fairytale. Now in this section is THE STORY OF JOBST HAUSER who once was exposed in the woods and came back to town. It is the story of a success and it was written down to encourage people and to promote the general sense of optimism.
On it goes with another fairytale: SUPERMAN AND THE BLUE PLANET. The idea came before or during the bookfair in Frankfurt.
IN THE M.A.S.H OF LOVE is the followup of CURFEW FOR FEELINGS and SETTLEMENTS AROUND YOUR HEART. I wrote it as a contribution for the project "Poets for Palestine" by Al Jisser in New York, www.aljisser.org
