Mohammed Hassona:
Fhe first exhibition in Europe which I will participate in personally will be in Munich, Germany. I was invited by the group "Yalla Arabi". The main object of my exhibition in Germany is to strengthen the general awareness of the Germans about Palestine in view of the media bias in the West caused by Israeli propaganda. This is why the exhibition also includes educational seminars on the latest attack on the Gaza Strip. This is meant to raise awareness in the German society, so that they feel encouraged to put pressure on the German government to support the Palestinian cause, to stop the current oppression of the Gaza Strip and to encourage the German government to play an active role in lifting the siege of Gaza, especially after several European countries have acknowledged the Palestinian State.
There was a lot of motion to be observed when during and after the Israeli attack on Gaza an international and especially a European solidarity came into being, caused by tens of thousands of killed and injured people. It is possible to say that the exhibition is to emphasize this state of solidarity and to encourage the German society to transform this solidarity into a general setting that is able to influence decision makers in Germany.
Question 5: Left for me is to point to your [Munich fundraising page], your facebook page and to direct those readers, who want to purchase your posters, to [this page]. Despite all my arts it is impossible for me to put myself in your position, and many of us feel helpless and petrified in view of this madness. But only we can bring about change, nothing will start on its own. Your closing word?
Mohammed Hassona: At the end of this interview I would like to turn in gratefulness to all my friends who worked to make the formalities for a visa to Germany easier, especially the group "Yalla Arabi" in Berlin who have been very active coordinating the exhibition in Munich and in Berlin. My special thanks furthermore goes to the engaged individual Sabine for her efforts in coordinating and organizing the Munich exhibition. I also thank all friends all over the world who have donated for the cost recovery of the exhibition.
I invite all friends and solidarity people in Germany to come to my first exhibition in Europe and to take part in conveying and spreading the message of the people from the Gaza Strip, expressed in the posters that are shown in the exhibition.
